Are we shopping addicts?
I love shopping because it's fun and it relaxes me. I like shopping only for myself and my sister. I usually shop in big shopping malls because there is a lot of smaller shops and big choice.
I go shopping for myself and my sister every month. I ususally buy a t-shirt, trousers, jeans and make up. I go shopping with my sister Tjaša because she helps me choose the right clothes. I often go window shopping, when I get bored. I spend my pocket money on sweets, presents for my friends and make up. I don't like online shopping because when you pay for something, you usually never get it, because they lie and take out money. I never read advertisment and watch TV commercials, because they're annoying.
All in all, I will always love shopping. My dreams are that I will some day go shopping to New York.
Taja, 8. b
I don't like shopping because it's boring and I don't like spending money. I like shopping for computer games.
I usually go shopping in small shops because they are near my home. I go shopping three times a week. I and my family also shop on Sundays. I usually buy food. I go shopping with my parents. I like it because I don't have to pay. I never go window shopping. I don't spend my pocket money. I think that online shopping is not very safe because people can steal money from your bank account. I sometimes read advertisments but I don't watch TV commercials because sometimes I think that commercials are longer than the film I'm watching.
In conclusion, I think that shopping is just a waste of time.
Matic, 8. b
I like shopping in general but only for myself. I like walking around the store and picking up things for myself when nobody bothers me.
I prefer shopping in small shops like boutiques and shops with old things. It's not crowdy and it's more like a hobby, not a work to do. Small shops are usually more expensive but just window shopping around the town is good, too. The most important reason why I like small shops is that they are not advertised. There aren't any commercials about their products. I hate commercials, there are too many of them and thy ruin everything. If all shops were like this I would go shopping more often, but now I usually buy things when I need something and boutiques are (as I said) expensive, so I try to avoid them. I usually go shopping at day time when shops are open, of course. I prefer buying things when I pass the store on daily activities or in the town, and not to go somewhere just for shopping. That's why I usually go shopping alone so nobody bothers me. My parents just give me the money but only when they agree or things are necessary. That's why I don't want to receive my pocket money because, in fact, my parents pay for almost all my things. I usually buy things in the store and not online because I always want to see the product which I want to buy and make sure if the thing is really as I imagined. This is probably the most important reason to buy something; you have to like it and it has to look like you imagined.
Ava, 8. b
I don't like shopping because it is boring and I think it is a waste of time and money. I get twenty euros a month from my parents and I have to spend them very carefully. I usually go shopping in big shopping malls once a week and I buy only the things I really need. Sometimes I stop in front of the shopping window to see what can I buy inside. I usually buy some nice clothes in men's wear that suit me. Sometimes TV commercials help me buy some things easily. I never buy online because I don't know if the new clothes suit me. I often go shopping by myself and sometimes with my sister in the shopping centre Supernova. I am very happy if I find some nice clothes and go home as soon as possible.
Luka B., 8. b
I like shopping because I like buying things and have them for myself. I like shopping for myself.
I usually go shopping to the small shops, but once a week I and my family go shopping to the big shops (supermarkets). We go shopping because we need food and other things. I go shopping twice a week. We never go shopping on Sundays because we usually go to other places (towns), only if we run out od food.
I usually buy some drinks or sweets. I go shopping by myself and I like it, because there's no one to say to me to stop buying sweets. I sometimes go window shopping. I don't get my pocket money, because I don't need it. I don't like online shopping because I don't trust it. I don't like watching TV commercials because they are long and boring.
All in all, I lke shopping for and by myself, but only once or twice a week.
Lan, 8. b
I like shopping when I do it with my friends, and when I'm in a good mood, I like it with my mum, too. I usually go shopping with my mum, because my dad is not so patient. We actually go shopping just when we need something. When my mum goes shopping, she buys some food. When I go shopping I usually buy clothes. And when my dad goes shopping, it means that he will just look around and buy nothing. We all go shopping late at night, because there are not so many people in the shopping centre. I prefer small shops, but at the same time, it's practical to go shopping to shopping centres, because I can buy everything at the same place, so I'm not tired of walking to different stores. That's why I also like buying things on internet, but never clothes, because of the size - I just don't know which should I take... But anyway, I don't spend so much money, I'm saving it for the products which I want and are more expensive. I sometimes go window shopping, but the next day I usually go and buy the things I have seen in the shops. I see many commercials on TV, but when they play them, I always switch the programme. I think they're boring, but that's the way they make money. Good for them...The point is that I like shopping because I get some new things.

I went there last year with my family and friends. We travelled by plane and we were there for one month. First ten days we travelled by a camper. We visited a lot of national parks nad lakes. We saw many bears! We didn't go for a shopping because we were in the middle of nowhere for most of the time. I spoke English there. We were there for a long time so I didn't have a choice!
I like this country because it's so big and empty. There are million of kilometres of forests! Just nature. I would definitely live there!

His parents were worried because he was gone for a very long time, so they went to search for him. They searched all over the woods and they found a wolf that was dressed like their son. The old lady and her cats
Once upon a time behind nine hills and nine lakes there was a house. The house was in a big, loud city. There was an old lady, too. She lived in that house. She lived there with her cats. A lot of cats. Well, first she had one cat, but that cat met another one and it had kittens. The kittens grew upa and met another few cats and they had kittens. So the old lady had a lot of cats and she was crazy about them. She went for a walk with them every single day. One day she went for a walk with her cats again. She let them out and locked the door. They went to the park, played and did a lot of things like always. But then the old lady saw that she lost the key from the house. She looked arounda and found it. She wanted to pick it up, but then one of her cats ate it! The old lady screamed but it was too late. The biggest problem was that the old lady didn't see which cat ate the key. She had no choice - she had to go to the doctor. The doctor said that he couldn't do anything so the old lady waited and waited .... But nothing happened.
"Lady, I think that you will need a new key," the doctor said.
"No, no, I want the key from my cat!"
"Well, we can wait as long as you want." the doctor said and they sat down.
So they waited and waited ... but not even one cat went to the toilet. The old lady and the doctor looked at each other and the old lady realised that she would need a new key.
She bought a new key but she didn't find the old one. Well, it must be in one of her lovely cats.

The best of our love poetry

ready to bloom, but waiting for the right time.
Oh, my love is like a wave,
washing up on the shore
and taking a little of every place with it.
Oh, my love is like the wind -
it blows in at the excat right time.
Oh, my love is like a spring day,
always there even though you might not see it.
Love is just love.
Very hard to explain,
but wonderful all the same.
Laurel, 9.a
Oh, my love is like a feather,
light and soft,
a river, deep and strong,
a thorn, painful and sharp.
It's like a cat - observant,
layful, wild, cuddly ...
But it can also be overwhelming,
like the size of the sky.
And ... it's also like a phoenix,
as it never seems to die,
but is always reborn, flamboyant
and ready to commit.
Lana, 9.a
Oh, my love is like a river,
sometimes it's crystal-clear,
but sometimes it can be a blur.
Love is like a river,
it twists and turns,
goes fast or slow,
but it never stays in one place.
Oh, my love is like a river,
on a hot sunny day th sun heats the river
until the river floats away.
My love is still like a river
and with the river it floats away.
Katarina, 9.b.
Oh, my love is like a sunny day.
It's always near me,
but I want it would stay
with me all the day.
Oh, my love is like the waves in the sea.
It's always something talking,
it's always somewhere walking.
Oh, my love is like the waves in the sea.
Oh, my love is like a flying bird.
It's like something new to explore,
it's like the feeling: "I'm free!"
It's like sitting on the tree.
Eva, 9.b
Oh, my love is like summer,
warm, vivacious and cheerful.
Oh, my love is like spring,
dreamy, romantic and lively.
But my love isn't like autumn,
moody, rainy and serious.

cold, windy and stubborn.

Our Letters to Santa Claus

for Christmas I would like:
- some new shoes
- a CD from singers Zui Suicide & Audrey Kitching
- some toys for my dog
- nothing for my brother… just kidding
- a bag/purse for my mum
- a new phone for my dad
- a scarf for my brother
Well, that's some of my wishes because, they're too many to put them on this list.
Lots of health and love,
Tita
Dear Santa Claus!
I'd love to have one soft toy, one Big animals book and a lot of candies too. My sister wants a Barbie house with a garden. My dad wants a big chocolate and my mum wants a scarf.
Merry Christmas and thank you,
Petra

Halloween

Ava, 6.b
Hello, I'm Jack O' Lantern. I'm from America. I like candles and dark nights. I'm 24 hours old and I'm scary.
Matic, 6.b
Hello! I’m Jack O’Lantern. I’m American. I have nine sisters, seven brothers and two pets. I’m 12 minutes old. I’m standing in front of Mrs Hill’s house. She’s nice. My pets are two mice. On Halloween I scare many people. Some of them think I’m cute. Sometimes, I even dress up and say: ‘’Trick or treat!’’
Tita, 6.a.
Taja, 6.b
Hello! I’m Jack O’Lantern. I’m American. I’ve got 36 brothers and 24 sisters. I hate them! I’ve died five times already. I’m thousand years old. I hate most of the girls and children I know because they are getting on my nerves. My only friends are Devi and spiders. I love spiders. They freak me out some times, but I still like them. I’m very lazy and I don’t move a lot. I don’t eat and drink. I don’t need to. In our family we have got the tradition that we murder the one that we don’t like. That’s all about me and my family!
Devi, 6.a
Hello! I’m Jack O’Lantern. I’m American. I’m 100 years old. I’ve got a lot of brothers and sisters. They are all pumpkins. I’ve got a lot of friends. My best friend is my brother. I’m orange and green. My birthday is on October 31. I like Haloween.

I have seen something ...
I have seen something beautiful.
I have seen something agreeable.
Was it the tree that I have seen?
Were those the flowers or the light?
It was not the tree nor the flowers
and not the light. It was the sun.
Yes, the sun that shines every day,
every single day on the Earth,
every single day in my country.
I have felt something recently.
I have felt something beautiful.
I have felt something agreeable.
Was it the spring that I have felt?
Was it the smell? Maybe the warmth?
It was not the spring nor the smell
and not the warmth. It was the love.
Yes, the love that we feel every day,
every single day on the Earth,
the love of our friends and the country.
I have heard something recently.
I have heard something beautiful.
I have heard something agreeable.
Was it the bird that I have heard?
Was it the ringing or the song?
It was not the bird nor the ringing
and not the song. It was good news.
Yes, good news that we hear every day,
every single day on the Earth,
good news that is good for my country.
I have learnt something recently.
I have learnt something beautiful.
I have learnt something agreeable.
Was it the maths that I have learnt?
Was it the physics or Slovene?
It was not the maths nor physics
and not the Slovene. It was what's important.
Yes, what's important every day,
every single day on the Earth,
it's not the money, it's the love.

A few spring poems
Pretty
Rainy
Inspiring
Nice
Growing
Flowers
Tulips are red,
Daisies are white,
some have a strong smell,
some have a slight.
The roots are vital
to the flower's survival.
The leaves are green-
they are a food-making machine.
The stem can be thin
or short,
or small,
but without it,
the flower would fall.
There can be many blossoms,
or just one.
That is the peak of the flower,
its crown.

Where would you like to live?
My second would be in Serbia, in Belgrade, because I know the language and half of my family is from there. I like the music a lot too, and the food as well.
Finally, my last choice would be in Crete, in a small place called Matala. I went there during the summer holidays, and I fell in love with the place. I would love to live somewhere near the sea, because I love swimming, sunbathing or just walking along the coast and listening to the waves washing upon the shore.

Living across the ocean…
When I was 5 my family moved across the ocean from America to Slovenia. America and Slovenia are so different: the people, the weather, the buildings, the language… It is hard for me to compare the two, because I don't really remember living in America, but every third summer we go back and I will try to do it by that even though it isn't really the same.
I really like it in America. It isn't the same as here at all and it also isn't as the people think. They don't have really big houses and eat fast food all the time… When our family goes back to America we probably eat more fast food than the Americans! And my favorite thing about American fast food is the free refills! The people in America are also really nice. They would talk to anyone! Even if you are a stranger they will talk to you like they have known you forever. Transportation is also different. The roads are really wide and it takes forever to get anywhere (Ok, not exactly forever). But when you get there you can see some amazing things (which is a lot like here: like the East Coast, the Grand Canyon…
But here is Slovenia it is also cool. They have really good food and friends love to come over and chat. The people are nice if you know them, but if you don't they are a little more reserved. The nature here is also really pretty! There are so many different places that you can go to and it doesn't take that long to get there. You can see lakes, caves, mountains, hills…I like living here and can't imagine living anywhere else.
